The event was organized by the Chinese Language and Culture Union (CLCU) and co-organized by the U-Stage Voice Club.
The event will be held on the online platform, and the students will be selected as the "Top 10 XJTLU Chinese Singers" through two rounds of competition: the preliminary round and the final round.
I. Theme: CLCU & Sound Society Chinese Style Singer Competition
II. Background: A joint activity of the clubs
III. Purpose of the event: to select the top ten singers of XJTLU
IV. Activity time: 2022.04.27 to 2022.05.21
V. Activity flow:
1. Preliminary round: submit a 1 minute video of singing with elements of Chinese style to the designated email address (face on camera required). The judges will select 20 contestants/teams to advance to the final round.
2. Final: Submit a full version of the video with accompaniment that is different from the preliminary round to the designated email address (faces are required). The judges will give scores to the 20 contestants/teams.
3. Voting by the public: the videos of the 20 contestants will be put on the designated public website for the public to vote (the number of votes will be ranked): rank 1-2: 50 points; rank 3-4: 45 points; ...... (ranking 1 - 2: 50 points; ranking 3 - 4: 45 points; ; ranking 19 - 20: 5 points).
4. Score tally: The judges' scores and the public vote are weighted (70% of the judges and 30% of the public).
5. Announcement of the results: CLCU and the Sound Club will announce the list of the "Top 10 Chinese Singers of XJTLU" and their scores.
6. Prizes: 1st prize: fire lacquer/fan/creative items (1 person); 2nd prize: fan/night light/hairpin/hairpin (2 persons); 3rd prize: lucky lamp/stamp (can be engraved)/booklet set (3 persons); winner: pen set/booklet/bookmark (4 persons).

In the process of globalization, the culture is tending toward homogenization, the traditional culture of various countries is facing a huge challenge. As an international university on the land of China, the Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is charged with the mission of cultural exchange and transmission. Under this background, the Chinese language and Culture Union of XJTLU has emerged as the times require. It aims at inheriting and developing Chinese traditional culture, promoting the fusion of Chinese culture and the culture of the other part of the world, and devoting itself to creating a platform for the exchange of Chinese language and culture in line with the new area. The XJTLU Chinese Language & Culture Union (CLCU) is a student autonomy organization led by the Language Center (LC) of XJTLU. The aim of the organization is to inherit and carry forward the Chinese traditional culture, to promote the integration of Chinese culture with the cultures of all regions of the world, and to build a platform for the exchange of Chinese traditional language and culture in line with the new era. The CLCU will create a new way of cultural exchange and will build an interactive experience platform of contemporary Chinese traditional culture by means of online and offline mode, and by means of communication, experience, teaching, and so on, combining existing culture-related organizations and societies, and building an interactive experience platform of contemporary Chinese traditional culture.
