The 2017 XJTLU Summer Social Practice Project Share and Award Ceremony was held in our school on October 11th. Our aim is awarding the excellent team, encouraging students’ active participation in social practice, and providing students a platform to show their achievements.

Firstly, volunteer orientation team gave a speech about their work. They helped the freshmen carry out their luggage, picked them up at the station and led the way for them. Although the work was very tired and difficult, all the volunteers were glad to help the new students adjust to the new environment.

Free-hand drawing VS cartoon

The second group used a unique way to present their content of the project. They have done a research about the ‘Milk Tea Development in China’ and drew all the elements by their hands. From the screen,  audiences can saw the dynamic milk tea characters and the process of production. It seemed as if they were watching an interesting cartoon. However, students used free-hand drawing style to show what they have learned in this period.

UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle)

Being attracted by the lively milk character, another mysterious item came into view. The audience was impressed by the sound initially. Then the item rising slowly and moving forward steadily like a sea gull leaping the sea. Finally the little bird hovered for a short time and landed on the floor. This item is UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle). The student representative pointed that UAV has been applied into many different fields. However, the combination of UAV and GIS system will have potential development which have a significant impact on society. This group showed their talent in technology and used their knowledge to solve the problems in society.

Three squirrels come in to life

Nowadays the brand name ‘three squirrels’ is familiar with most people. The company has developed rapidly in recent years. During the summer social practice, our students have the opportunity to study in headquarter of the company. They showed their experience in a performance way. The young intern who has enthusiasm and passion for his job stands for the energetic side of the company. The unique test prepared by the manager indicated the particular management. Resistance of temptation showed their faith and honest. Besides, the group had a further research on the image of their cartoon logo. They discovered that this visual logo would help the brand advertise their products and achieve success.

Support education team

The student representatives of support education team wore white T-shirt and red scarf. They taught students knowledge, brought happiness. They were their teachers as well as friends. When they sharing the experience and stories with the kids, the audiences we can saw the beautiful angles smiling at us. Although it was a short time accompany, our students have tried their best to spread their love.

Oversea volunteer team

There are some students who went abroad to do the volunteer work and have learned a lot. They cared about autistic children, carried research about water conservation and classified the garbage. They used their movement and practice to help the society. No matter at home and abroad, these students proved themselves.

Participating in social practice can not only develop potentials but provide an opportunity to experience in the society. Prof. Yang said that social practice is very important. It can help the students deal with problems in different situation. This kind of activity has become a necessity for XJTLU students. During this ceremony, our students expressed their feelings and experience in their unique way. Their ability showed that they have put what they learned into practice. And the social practice provided a platform where they can show their achievements.
