On May 18, 2018, the 2018 XJTLU Model United Nations Conference was held by Model United Nations in the campus. the opening ceremony was held in G23w at the central building at 7:15 PM. With music, participants from 17 universities and high schools entered.

At the beginning of the opening ceremony, the secretary-general of Model United Nations Committee Zeyang Yu introduced that this year's conference will be consist of four independent committee, the Vienna meeting, the United Nations food and agriculture organization, the UN human rights council and the main press center. He cited the words of the UN secretary-general, Antonio, that the potential of young people is the potential of the world. At the meeting, we sincerely wish that the participants can develop a mature conciseness as a world citizen and make new friends with similar interests.

MUN invited Professor Adam Cross, Head of International Relations Department of XJTLU and delivered a speech and expressed his wishes about this conference. In addition, he hoped that XJTLU Model United Nations Committee would gain better growth and development

Then, academic director Haoyang Wang delivered a speech. In his speech, he noted that the Model United Nations hopes delegates who attend the meeting feel the international and free atmosphere during the time in Xi 'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, and can obtain the new point of view and exercise the ability of critical thinking.

And then, the host plays the congratulations video from the league organization of other areas and schools, and reads the letters from Model United Nations Committee of Suzhou University, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Henan Kaifeng.

2018 is the 11th year from the founding of the Xi 'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Model United Nations committee. The committee has consistently devoted itself into making progress and innovation since the establishment. This conference, as the annual conference of 2018, innovatively takes "The Belt and Road" as one of its themes.

The opening ceremony ended, and we sincerely hope that all the participants will be able to have an enjoyable and fruitful time. It is expected that the Model United Nations of Xi 'an Jiaotong University will continue its excellent academic atmosphere and excellent organizational capability.
