“No one knows what they want to do in this world" says Yang. His unique cinematic world is also based on profound social exploration: scenes mostly focus on modern cities, documenting the existence of contemporary Taiwanese residents, and his characters are often lost and overwhelmed in this modern world. For this screening, we have chosen "one end and one tail", namely Yang's feature film debut A Day at the Beach and his last work A One, and a Two, to take you through the intellectual and audio-visual sedimentation of this master of Chinese cinema, and to experience the examination and exploration of modern social structures, human relationships and individual consciousness in Yang's film world.

MOVIE@XJTLU was set up in 2006 and took on the duty to promote the pure art of movie.MOVIE@XJTLU provides a platform for members to shoot films and videos related to any theme they want to shoot. Meanwhile, students who enjoy watching movies can share film critics with us. Student who love drama can show themselves on the stage. Students who have an acting dream can realize their dreams with others in aspect of trying their best to perform themselves. Students who like creating stories can put their thoughts in scripts and share with others. Students who are interested in shooting films can learn basic knowledge about film making, including scripts writing, shooting, acting, post-producing, editing, color grading. At the same time, we will also hold regular movie-watching activities for all students who like movies to participate in.
