Background of Nix Liu Xin: Nix Liu Xin

Nix studied at the University of Liverpool, Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), Harvard University and MIT.

He is the founder of Play.Work Creative Technology and co-founder of HarvardXR.

New Media Artist, Designer, Technology Explorer

As an active technological innovator in the industry, Xin Liu's creations often combine different new media technologies in non-standard ways, such as dynamic visual, spatial, extended reality, 3D scanning, robotic arms and artificial intelligence.

He has collaborated with many of the world's top brands and organisations and has been recognised with numerous international awards, including: the National Chinese American 30 Under 30 Young Elites of the Year 2023; the Harvard Design Research Award; the first prize at the CGarchitect 3D Awards 2020, the most prestigious awards in the field of architectural visualisation, where he will be a member of the judging panel in 2021; one of the 12 selected artists at the Lianzhou Photo Festival in 2019 One of the artists and held a solo exhibition; Best film in MIT Artificial Intelligence Film Competition. Liu Xin has been invited to give guest lectures at University College London, Stanford, Tongji University, China Academy of Fine Arts, and Central Academy of Fine Arts, and has also been interviewed by Nowness, Phoenix TV, and Nylon Magazine.

As Creative Director of Play.Work, Nix and his team have worked with brands and artists including Burberry, Mercedes Benz, Li Yuchun, London Fashion Week, Microsoft AI, NYLON, USC School of Architecture's Robotics Lab, Wallpaper, The Right to Reinvent the Statue, Korean-American artist Miss Grit, and more. etc.

MOVIE@XJTLU was set up in 2006 and took on the duty to promote the pure art of movie.MOVIE@XJTLU provides a platform for members to shoot films and videos related to any theme they want to shoot. Meanwhile, students who enjoy watching movies can share film critics with us. Student who love drama can show themselves on the stage. Students who have an acting dream can realize their dreams with others in aspect of trying their best to perform themselves. Students who like creating stories can put their thoughts in scripts and share with others. Students who are interested in shooting films can learn basic knowledge about film making, including scripts writing, shooting, acting, post-producing, editing, color grading. At the same time, we will also hold regular movie-watching activities for all students who like movies to participate in.
