Detailed Activity Introduction for XJTLU Public Welfare Society Winter Teaching Volunteer Interview

I. Interview Eligibility

All currently enrolled students of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (regardless of grade or major) who can commit to full participation in the winter teaching program and respect the culture and student needs of the teaching area.

II. Interview Time and Venue

• Time: November 28, 2025, 17:00-20:00 (conducted in batches; specific session will be notified via SMS/email after registration)

• Venue: Classroom fbG32 (Tencent Meeting online as backup plan)

III. Interview Process (15-20 minutes per session)

1. Self-introduction (3 minutes): Briefly introduce personal basic information, understanding of the teaching program, motivation for participation, and strengths (e.g., academic expertise, volunteer experience, etc.).

2. Structured Q&A (8-10 minutes): Questions focus on public welfare motivation, teaching response, teamwork, etc., to assess problem-solving and pressure-resisting abilities.

3. Mock Teaching Demonstration (3-5 minutes): Select a theme suitable for rural children (e.g., interesting subjects, art and crafts, growth sharing, etc.) to demonstrate teaching ideas and interactive design.

4. Free Communication (2 minutes): Candidates can inquire about details such as the teaching location, service duration, and course format; interviewers will provide supplementary explanations.

IV. Key Assessment Criteria

• Public welfare enthusiasm and service commitment

• Teaching potential and expressive ability

• Comprehensive qualities (communication, collaboration, adaptability)

• Program time matching and recognition of the program's philosophy

V. Preparation Suggestions

1. Sort out personal experiences and skills related to teaching volunteer work, and clarify the core motivation for participation.

2. Understand the basic needs of rural education, and design simple interactive sessions focusing on small knowledge points.

3. Prepare 1-2 specific questions about the program to show sincerity in participation.

VI. Follow-up Arrangements

Interview results will be notified within 3 working days after the interview. Selected candidates are required to participate in pre-training covering teaching skills, safety knowledge, local culture, etc., and will officially become volunteers upon passing the training.
