Group E from Season 14 of “Win in XJTLU” accepted the exclusive interview with SOSN reporter on 14th, May. Their presentation in the Demonstration of “Win X” on the 10th , May impressed audiences a lot.
Following the topic “XJTLUers”, Group E thoght that it was better to allow more students to talk about “XJTLUers” rather than just discuss it among themselves. Therefore, by both online survey and face-to-face interview, they collected and summarized students’ ideas about “XJTLUers”, and then they made a micro film about it. “Diversity” was the key word throughout their presentation. “Free, independent, innovative, diligent and brave” were all the traits reporters described about XJTLUers. As for the differences between XJTLU and other traditional universities, “strong requirement on self-discipline” and “good environment of English” were mostly mentioned during interviews. At the end of the presentation, group E concluded: “XJTLU is more similar with the society compared with other universities. Students of different characteristics contribute to the diversity of XJTLU.”
When it comes to the difficulties they encountered in this activity, group leader Yang Ziwei claimed that their strength could not be exploited during the process. In order to make up for their weakness in shooting videos, they decided to retain someone to shoot videos for them after the first meeting. They also told that balancing the time between “Win X” and management of their clubs was the most common trouble they had. Adjust attitude and mood as well as allocating the work appropriately were their solution.
Their senses of responsibility made them cooperate efficiently and enjoyably. Yang Ziwei expressed his thoughts about working as a leader: “Your energy is limited; Thus, it is extremely significant for a leader to divide the work rationally.” Ni Pinzhi, recalling the day he woke up at six o’clock to make PPT slides for their presentation, said with mixed feelings: “Now I really understand the words ‘your energy is far beyond your imagination’ !” Huang Zihe was mainly in charge of the presentation. He told us although he pretended to be calm, he was actually very nervous that day when standing in front of so many people. Generally, he felt satisfied with his performance.
At the end of the interview, Cao Zhaoxi made her comments on “Win X”: “It provides us with an opportunity to make friends with other club presidents, which can help promote cooperation among clubs.” While their leader Yang Ziwei suggested to hold this kind of activities in a longer term, in which case participants could get enough time to prepare.
